MADISON AVENUE WATCH WEEK- CRASH OF 1929
Given a clock-face as the starting point, we were tasked to interpret a historical moment in time. My watch was based on the Crash of the Stock Market in 1929.
Description on panel:
All good things come to an end and the lavish prosperous Roaring 20’s crashed on what history knows as Black Tuesday. The deathly spiral on the 23rd of October continued hours after the closing bell of 3:30 PM. In one week the market lost over 30 billion dollars which in perspective at the time was ten times the annual budget of the federal government. The crash would put the US economy in a hole that would take almost 15 years to fully recover.
