Verde 20’s fue la primera obra a gran escala que me permitió liberar mis emociones en el lienzo. Creada durante mis primeros días en Colombia, esta pieza simboliza mi búsqueda de un estilo e identidad artística personal. En el centro de la obra hay una imagen de una mujer de la década de 1920, tomada de una revista de fotografía de más de 100 años. Encontré esta revista en el sótano de un museo de juguetes en la Ciudad de México, y su estado de conservación, prácticamente intacto, me asombró.

La mujer, atemporal y elegante, mira desde el centro, rodeada de distintos tonos de verde. Estos tonos representan a Antioquia y su bandera, reflejando el entorno vibrante y lleno de vida que me rodea. Al igual que la pintura, me siento rodeado de una gran cantidad de energía, inspiración y belleza mientras encuentro mi propio lugar en medio de todo.

Lo que comenzó como un experimento de autodescubrimiento se convirtió en un paso importante en el desarrollo de mi estilo. Crear Verde 20’s me enseñó a expresar emociones con trazos amplios e instintivos, mientras encontraba un sentido de orden en el proceso. Esta obra se convirtió en la base de mi enfoque actual, equilibrando la expresión libre con un toque de estructura.

Verde 20’s was the first large-scale piece that allowed me to release my emotions freely onto the canvas. Created during my early time in Colombia, this piece symbolizes my search for a personal style and artistic identity. At the center of the work is an image of a woman from the 1920s, taken from a photography magazine that’s over 100 years old. I found this magazine in the basement of a toy museum in Mexico City, and its mint condition amazed me.

The woman, timeless and poised, looks out from the center, surrounded by different shades of green. These green tones represent Antioquia and its flag, reflecting the vibrant and lively environment around me. Just like the painting, I feel surrounded by an abundance of energy, inspiration, and beauty while finding my own place within it.

What started as an experiment in self-discovery turned into an important step in developing my style. Creating Verde 20’s taught me how to express emotions with broad, instinctive strokes while finding a sense of order in the process. This piece became the foundation for my current approach, balancing free expression with a touch of structure.
