“Grietas del Velo” es una continuación y evolución de mi obra anterior, “Primero,” ambas compartiendo la misma paleta de colores audaces inspirada en la bandera de Colombia. Con unas dimensiones de 160 x 80 cm, esta obra se compone de capas: una base brillante de rojo, amarillo y azul, cubierta por una superficie blanca craquelada. El efecto craquelado es intencional, permitiendo que los colores subyacentes se asomen y creando una sensación de tensión que simboliza la compleja naturaleza de Colombia.

Esta pieza cuenta una historia dual: una de belleza y lucha. La capa blanca y lisa representa una calma exterior, mientras que las grietas muestran la realidad vibrante y, a veces, caótica que se encuentra debajo. Vivir en Colombia ha inspirado esta obra, ya que he podido ver tanto su belleza como sus desafíos constantes. El contraste entre las capas sugiere verdades más profundas, mostrando cómo, con el tiempo, los problemas pueden surgir incluso en la superficie más serena.

“Grietas del Velo” es tanto un homenaje como una reflexión, expresando mi viaje emocional durante el último año. Captura los sentimientos encontrados que tengo hacia Colombia: su calidez y belleza, así como su necesidad de cambio social. Measuring 160 x 80 cm, this work is built up in layers: a bright base of red, yellow, and blue covered by a crackled white surface. The crackle effect is intentional, allowing the colors underneath to peek through, creating a sense of tension that symbolizes the complex nature of Colombia.

Living in Colombia has inspired this work, as I’ve seen both its beauty and its ongoing challenges.
